April 2011: Out of Water Conference_Toronto

October 13, 2011

As part of Liat Margolis and Aziza Chaouni's ongoing investigation, Out of Water, the University of Toronto hosted a fantastic 2-day symposium in early April. A small cohort of progressive water-thinkers from Australia, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and North America compared notes on the role of technology in delivering clean, reliable water supplies to major urban centers. Hadley Arnold, the only speaker representing the US West, gave a talk on Hydro-Logics: Gravity-Fed Cities and the Soft Path of Water, focussing on some of ALI's applied research in Burbank. Hadley's favorite project from two days of presentations? Fadi Masoud's proposal for the Jordan Valley.
