Vote for Divining LA

Voting in the LA2050 challenge is now open, and Divining LA needs your support. Vote here Divining LA is a collaborative, multi-year initiative designed to seek, reveal, and champion a water-smart future for Los Angeles. We urge the drylands design community to support Divining LA with a simple click.

Divining LA is a digital decision-making tool and a public design challenge  led by ALI in partnership with  Arup, TreePeople, City of LA Bureau of Engineering, Bureau of Sanitation Watershed Protection Program, LADWP Waterhsed Management, and LA County Flood Countrol.  Working with outreach partners Places Journal, AIA|Los Angeles, AC Martin, Perkins + Will, agps architecture and the design schools, Divining LA will bring together architects, urban designers, citizens, scientists, and policy advisors to envision an abundant future in drylands.

Our vision for 2050 is a city that plans, zones, designs, and builds for local water harvest.

In the next 12 months, Divining LA will achieve major milestones: developing the design brief and support materials for design teams; inviting university and professional collaborators to join the challenge; identifying community-based organizations to represent their neighborhoods in the challenge; and launching the first phase of design.

We need your vote for a water-smart future. Divining LA is competing with lots of great proposals as part of the LA2050 challenge.   The proposal will be reviewed on technical merit and popular vote.
