My name is Stephanie Newcomb. My interests are at the intersection of architecture, ecology, urbanism and the socio-spatial dialectic. All the work extends beyond form into understanding deeper epistemological and environmental cycles of inhabitation. I’m currently working with the Arid Lands Institute as part of a post-professional degree in Los Angeles, California. Originally from San Jose, Costa Rica via Pittsburgh where I graduated with a B.Arch from Carnegie Mellon University; previously worked in some architecture offices in Los Angeles, Oslo, and in my hometown in San Jose, Costa Rica. I also play with other media including type, making zines and shooting the occasional film. In an increasing world of telescopic expertise, I believe in a collaborative gesamtkunstwerk.
